PHP developers are rare in Devon. We are one of the few North Devon web design companies with in-house PHP skills, in fact we are one of the few web design companies in North Devon with the ability to design bsepoke, database-driven websites in-house!
Why use PHP rather than ASP, or other scripting languages?
We favour PHP for the following reasons:
- It is an open source
technology. This means that it is (effectively) free to use in terms of development and hosting. It is often hosted
on Linux (another open source product) servers. This affects you because your website
is likely to be hosted on one of these servers and, not surprisingly, hosting on servers running open source
software tends to be much cheaper and generally much more stable than the Windows equivalent!
Note: the type of server used to serve your site will not affect compatability with the systems of your site visitors. - PHP is the perfect tool for creating/managing dynamic web content. As well as featuring many functions to help automate creation of web pages (making us more efficient and lowering your costs!), PHP has many built in functions to allow pages to seamlessly move data to and from a MySQL database. It is this over anything else that makes it the perfect tool for building ecommerce websites and online shops.
